Welcome to a PIECE OF HEAVEN. Featured in Channel 4 program Homes by the sea. Located on the sea wall, Millbeach, Heybridge, Essex, is only a couple of miles from the historic town of Maldon. This is a unique beach hut,1 of 6, it is in effect a small bungalow, sitting on stilts over the tidal river Blackwater. Access is gained by walking along the concrete sea wall footpath. It is the first bungalow you come to. It has a south-facing sea view balcony, which is secluded from the landside, sitting over the water (tide in) on which are 4 adjustable seats and a small dining area. The balcony is sheltered yet open, so even in the winter if the sun is out it is still warm. Inside it has 2 double bedrooms both with ensuite shower,-eco toilet and Freeview tv. One bedroom can be changed from kingsize to twin. ) sleeping 4 adults. A Travel cot is available at no extra charge. It has an open plan vaulted sitting/dining room/kitchen, with windows to either side and windows french doors to the balcony. The sitting room has a wood burner, 2 comfy fireside chairs, a settee, Freeview tv, radio, and books. The dining area has a solid wood dining table. The kitchen comes with a hob, oven, cafetiere, kettle, toaster, combination microwave, and butler sink, with dual aspect windows and stunning views.
Every room has a radiator. It has a mezzanine level over the balcony with a large window giving panoramic views over the river. It has an outside tap on the approach balcony to the front door, where there is also room to store bikes( 2 adult bikes normally available )and a securing chain and padlock are in place. For added peace of mind and night/day privacy /security, the windows are fitted with electrically operated security shutters. You can offload your car about a hundred feet away, then park the car in their allocated area, just down the private road entrance.
Since purchasing it in 2013, they spent 2014 renovating and remodeling it to make it a lovely getaway from the fast pace of modern life. It is shabby chic and looks like it has always been designed so and given a lick of paint ( oh if only that was the case!) The Shack was used in the film "4th protocol", being the chalet Sir Michael Caine's character stayed in. The shack is available for block stays Only

Everyone who has visited and stayed has said it is very relaxing and peaceful. However, if you want things to do, there is a beach just a walk along the sea wall, local public houses and cafes, again, a walk along the sea wall. Crabbing and fishing from the balcony (basic equipment provided) bike riding, and bird watching, they also provide old-style family games. Nearby are things of interest for most tastes. Due to mud flats, and white interior, sorry no pets. Also no smoking. An information pack is provided.
