Tinside in Plymouth is the perfect spot for swimming, sunning, strolling, water sports and these 21 beach huts have the ideal vantage point.

A bright colour palette and all adjoined in sets of seven, these beach huts have a spacious feel and provide an ample amount of space for the length of your visit.

Set into the cliff face, the cliff is a man made multi tier setting connected by footpaths and stairs. The beach huts here are conveniently placed on the lower mid level. Looking up you’ll see the surrounding green parks, naval architecture and a cafe / bar to grab your fill, looking right opens out to the bay and ahead over the bay, the illusive Drake’s Island.

Below, the purpose built sea steps take you right into the stunning clear blue bay where you’ll find yourself swimming not too far from paddle boarders and kayakers and other adventurers enjoying these beautiful waters.

Further along to the right of the beach huts is the Tinside Lido. This art deco lido was built in 1935 and it’s still in full use today. Take a minute stroll and go for a swim there if you prefer a more heated water for bathing.

In the distance you can watch the yachts sail by and the motorboats cruise around, there’s also a couple of naval ships for the boat enthusiasts amongst you.

This clifftop bay location is a sand-less, sun-trapped paradise point for those that prefer solid ground warming their feet as they walk along the rocks and sweeping steps leading directly to the beach huts and the clear blue sea.
